Reminder: Do You Need to Sign Up for Medicare Part B?

Another Medicare reminder. If you’re over 65 and haven’t signed up for Medicare Part B, it’s enrollment season again and time to think about whether you need to enroll.

Don’t forget! Medicare Part A only covers hospital insurance. If you want medical insurance, you will need to sign up for Medicare Part B, and you only have the seven months after you become eligible for Medicare Part A to do it unless you’re getting health insurance through your job or your spouse’s.  After that, you can still enroll in Medicare Part B from January 1st to March 31st every year. But every year you put it off, your Medicare Part B premiums will go up 10%.

Bottom Line: Unless you’re getting health insurance through your job or your spouse’s, sign up for Medicare Part B as soon as possible!  You only have  a week left.

Have you signed up for Medicare Part B? Tell us about it in our Medicare forum!
